Picton Golf & Country Club Terms & Conditions of Membership
Picton Golf & Country Club is a member-directed, not-for-profit corporation. Business operation and management is conducted by the elected Board of Directors. Member activities, leagues and socials are the responsibility of volunteer member committees.
Ownership of a Class “B” Debenture provides full voting membership in the Corporation and is mandatory for all new Adult, Intermediate and Young Adult Members. (Debenture fee is refundable at the termination of membership.)
Membership is valid from the date full payment is received – or while authorized installment plan is current and up to date – until March 31 of the following year. Playing privileges are granted to members in good standing between the first and last day of the playing season.
It is understood that all Members are to act in a respectful manner to other members, guests, and staff. Harassment, physical abuse, or abusive/threatening language will not be tolerated.
Members are to be familiar with all Club polices. (A complete listing the Club policies may be found in the Pro Shop and on the Club’s website: www.pictongolf.ca)
Personal alcohol may not be brought to or consumed on Club property.
The Course may be closed to general member play due to inclement weather or conditions.
General member play may be restricted while Intra-Club and/or outside events are in progress.
Play:
- Please check in with the Pro Shop or the Starter 15 minutes prior to your tee time.
- Provide the names of all playing partners, including guests, when multi-player tee times are booked.
- Provide as much notice possible when cancelling a booked tee time.
- Marshalls have full authority to control play.
- Play is to commence on the 1st tee unless other direction is provided by staff.
Power Cart Usage:
- Power carts are to be operated in a safe manner, following all on-course signage.
- Single ride fees and seasonal cart leases are per seat/per ride.
- Defined # of ride cart leases (10, 30, 50, 75) may be shared with household members.
- Unlimited seasonal cart leases are not transferable.
- Solo ridership of power carts may be subject to additional surcharges.
Safety:
There are adherent risks associated with all physical sports, included golf and golf related activities. Members are to exercise caution and prudent judgment to prevent injury to themselves and to others. Safety conditions that require attention are, but are not limited to:
- Changing and inclement weather conditions.
- Undulating or uneven surfaces.
- Natural and man-made obstacles and obstructions.
- The presence of other golfers, marshalls and maintenance staff and their equipment.
Competition:
- Members wishing to participate in Inter-Club/Intra-Club competitions are required to maintain a valid and up to date official Golf Canada Handicap Index. Handicaps are subject to peer review, and pre-competition assessment by the Club’s Rules & Handicap Committee
Members who enter into a new or renewing membership contract agree to abide by the Terms and Conditions of Membership.
